Customs Committee

The Customs Co-heads and Committee help to select the Customs people for the class of 2020. They plan Customs person training and should plan to not only attend but to actively participate in all aspects of the planning and implementation of that training. The spring semester will be a busy time as Customs person selection and the majority of planning for training and Custom Week will take place. However, they must be available over the summer for three to four conference calls and should be prepared to complete independent work prior to Customs Week, if necessary. The Customs Co-heads and Committee should plan to return to campus on August 18th, 2016 and must be available for Customs Training which will be held all day, each day, from the evening of August 19 to the evening of August 23, 2016. The Co-heads and Committee members are expected to attend and help lead all of the training sessions during that time and are also expected to help with various aspects of the Customs Week program from August 24-29, 2016. This means that if you are selected to be a Customs Committee Co-head or to be on the Customs Committee you may not apply to be an HA, CDA, or a Peer Mentor. The Customs Committee and Co-Heads are considered part of the DLT and the Committee and Co-Heads are expected to attend all of the DLT trainings and meetings. During the academic year, the Customs Co-heads and Committee will conduct area meetings, mentor and act as a general resource for all Customspeople, and are expected to attend DLT area meetings. Customs Co-heads and members of the Customs Committee work closely with the Director of Student Activities and Orientation and the Student Activities and Orientation Graduate Assistant.
