Up to FIVE positions available. The Committee serves as connection between students and Dining Services and promotes sustainable practices for the betterment of the Bryn Mawr community. Some initiatives of the past include: organizing seasonal local food dinners, holding food waste weigh-ins in the dining halls, re-energizing the composting efforts, hosting food documentary movie nights, and starting a local chapter of the Real Food Challenge. Students have the opportunity to work directly with the Head of Dining Services to find effective strategies for making ideas a reality within the realm of the Dining Services budget. The current focus of the committee is the Real Food Challenge, a national campaign that aims to bring more “real” food to college campuses. The committee is also focused on bringing greater awareness about sustainable food systems to the student body.
